About the PepsiCo R&D Packaging Learnership

The R&D Packaging Work Integrated Learning programme focuses on developing technical skills in packaging innovation, product testing, and manufacturing processes. Learners will support the South African R&D team in executing projects that improve product quality, sustainability, and efficiency.

Participants will work alongside experienced technologists and scientists to deliver practical solutions in real production and pilot plant environments.


Key Responsibilities During the Learnership

As part of the R&D team, learners will assist in multiple areas of product development and testing.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with trial protocols and coordinating with stakeholders
  • Supporting pilot plant and production trials
  • Executing low-complexity product development projects
  • Collecting product samples from production lines
  • Conducting routine product quality and analytical tests
