First National Bank (FNB) is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for the FNB 12-Month Learnership Programme 2025 / 2026, an exciting opportunity designed to equip young people with valuable workplace experience and recognized qualifications.

This programme is part of FNB’s commitment to youth empowerment and skills development, helping young individuals gain the experience and confidence needed to build a successful career in the banking and financial services industry.

Salary: R 5,650.00 per month – Base pay on fixed amount only

Programme Objectives

The FNB Learnership Programme aims to:

  • Provide unemployed youth with hands-on work experience.
  • Offer a recognized qualification through structured learning.
  • Enhance employability and career prospects.
  • Develop future leaders for South Africa’s banking industry.

Minimum Entry Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 34.
  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Hold a minimum of a Matric certificate (NQF Level 4).
  • Additional qualifications (Certificates/Diplomas at NQF Level 5 or 6) are advantageous.
  • Be unemployed for at least 6 months prior to applying.
  • Not currently studying.
  • Have little or no formal work experience (less than 12 months).
  • Must be your first job experience.
  • No prior participation in any FirstRand or FirstJob programme.
  • Have a good command of English.
  • No criminal record or blacklisting.
  • Be willing to complete a learnership and gain practical experience simultaneously.
  • Be able to record a short voice note as part of the screening process.
