Bidvest Protea Coin Security Learnership 2025

Bidvest Protea Coin, through its Gijima Training Academy, is inviting unemployed youth from the John Taolo Gaetsewe (JTG) District in the Northern Cape to apply for its 12-month Security Learnership Programme for 2025.

This initiative aims to combat youth unemployment by equipping participants with the professional skills, knowledge, and nationally recognized qualifications required for a successful career in the security sector.

About the Bidvest Protea Coin Security Learnership 2025

This exciting opportunity offers participants the chance to earn a National Certificate in General Security Practices (NQF Level 3) — fully accredited by SASSETA (Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority).

Learners will gain both theoretical training and practical workplace experience, ensuring they are job-ready and employable within one of South Africa’s most in-demand industries.

Programme Details:

• Number of Positions: 30 candidates
• Duration: 12 months
• Qualification: National Certificate in General Security Practices (NQF Level 3)
• Accreditation: SASSETA

This programme not only provides classroom-based instruction but also hands-on security experience, bridging the gap between learning and employment.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen, aged 18 to 27 years
• Hold a Grade 12 / Matric certificate
• Submit a valid South African ID
• Provide an updated CV
• Be a local resident within the JTG District (subject to verification)
• Submit proof of residence
• Provide a SARS document (Income Tax Reference Number)
• Have no criminal record
• Be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Be medically and physically fit
• PSIRA registration will be an added advantage
