About the Vodacom Learnership Program

Each year, Vodacom offers young people from diverse communities across the country the learnership opportunity to study at Vodacom in accordance with the government’s national skills development strategy to create skills and employ and alleviate poverty.

Vodacom is one of the largest mobile phone companies in South Africa and is part of a multinational company, Vodafone. As the largest partner, Vodacom believes in leveraging the qualifications and degrees, talents and ambitions of all citizens who are part of our multicultural country. This belief is intended to lead Vodacom Way, which is the company’s primary fund.

To date, Vodacom has implemented a number of development programs, including student training at Vodacom, which includes mentoring and hands-on training according to SAQA unit standards.

Vodacom learnership requirements

There are specific requirements for admission to the Vodacom learnership:

Basic requirements

Must be a South African citizen
Applications must have a standard certificate / grade 12; or
Have an NQF certificate in education and training (Level 4); or
You have successfully completed the National Certificate in Vocational Studies (NQF Level 4)
You must have at least a C major in math and science
Candidates must have a basic knowledge of information technology, computer engineering, electrical engineering and computer science.
To apply for a course in mechanical and mechanical engineering, you must have the required qualifications from a technical university or electronic engineering academy.
You need Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Masters programs to apply for Information Technology

Other requirements

Must be between 21 and 35 years old
Applications must be currently inactive
You may not be on any other topic at this time
Engineering and Information Technology Apprenticeship
These Vodacom Engineering and Technology students learn about the results and are based on a legally binding agreement between the student, the employer and the service provider.

The one-year interim study program (12 months) also includes the following:

Theory

About 30% of the training consists of theoretical training offered in the classroom.

You are provided with training material
You are required to gather a portfolio of evidence for all your work; It will be sent for evaluation at the end of your apprenticeship

Workplace Training

The rest of the training is training work (at work).

This part of the training will be offered at the Vodacom location described by the company
Students receive a monthly allowance during training, but are responsible for their stay, food and travel.
After completing both the repetitive (instructional) and functional (functional) phases and completing the Portfolio of Evidence (POE), we successfully obtained an external FET Certificate of Excellence.

The learnership contract is to work for a legally binding contract and any violation or breach of the terms of the agreement will be dealt with in accordance with sections 17 and 18 of the Skills Development Act, 97 of 1998.

Vodacom learnership application process

To apply for a Vodacom learnership, you must complete the application form with your own hand.

You can download the application form on the Vodacom website.
If you are applying for an apprenticeship, make sure you specify the position of apprenticeship you are applying for (e.g. Vodacom Engineering and Operation Learnership)
Make sure you sign the application form
Submit certified copies of your certificates and your document (these copies must be certified within the last 3 months – you can do so at any police station)
Applications can also be emailed to Externalbursars@vodacom.co.za.

Please note:

Late or unsubscribed application forms will not be accepted
Forms installed on computers are not accepted
Remember that you will be responsible for the cost of accommodation, travel and food during your internship. It is therefore advisable to apply for a scholarship in a district or management area near your place of residence.
